Overview of the city:
Abidjan is the biggest city on the southern Atlantic coast of Cote d’Ivoire and also considered to be the most important city. It is regarded as one of the most populous cities where the French language is mostly preferred for speaking. The city is having a population of about 4.7 million which makes it the fourth populous city proper in Africa and also known as the cultural crossroads of Africa. The city has been the power base of the Region, today Abidjan is the major economic and de facto capital of the country despite facing the political issues in Cote D’Ivoire. It is the most important urban center having pyramids and ziggurat type buildings.
- Abidjan is a place where you will get to see lots of varieties in food including Ivorian food, which is available on the sidewalk or on roadside terrace. Ivory Coast is popular for staple foods including rice, cassava, bread, and yam.
- Bread is mostly preferred for breakfast as people here take it as supplements to the meal. Here fish is the only dish which is cheap. If you are fond of European cuisine it can be found in the neighborhoods including Cocody and plateau.
- The Abidjan is famous for its liveliest nightlife and has an availability of plenty of nightclubs including out-oor areas, go-go bars and Maquis which provides musical pipeline encompassing various types of Djs, Zouglou, and Decale.
- The musical genre started here in 2002 and put a phenomenal impact on people and now spreading to the hot nights of the capital. The popular Zouglou provide benefits of Woyo spaces, well-furnished and dedicated to the famous Internat and Lyce.
